The Shake Zone (formerly called the Quake Cottage) is back in Delta this year for emergency preparedness week.
It will be open from 12:00 - 18:00 on Friday, May 6th at the Firehall Centre for the Arts in North Delta (11489 - 84th Avenue). They're doing a whole event with a number of community emergency preparedness groups having booths in addition to the Shake Zone earthquake simulator. The simulator itself lets people feel what an 8 point earthquake feels like -- I don't know about you, but I'd much rather experience that for the first time in a simulator than in real life!
The Maintenance Unit has a vacancy for a Shop Steward. Anyone interested, please call the Union Office.
